Frequently Asked Excavation Contractor Questions
We receive a lot of phone calls and emails from inquiring customers. They want to know about the services we offer, the safety protocols we follow, and all the ways we dispose of debris and excavated topsoil.
Here are some helpful answers to a few of our most frequently asked questions. If you have further questions, don’t hesitate to contact us at (719) 395-2093.
Do you do same-day site visits?
The nature of our job requires us to schedule many of our projects in advance of several days to several weeks. That said, we understand that some of our clients may require our services immediately. In instances such as those, we go to great lengths to schedule ourselves at a time most convenient for the client.
Can I pick up material at Pelino Inc. instead of getting it delivered?
We pride ourselves on the fact that we can offer delivery and pickup of any material that we have in stock. At Pelino Inc. we always have a loader on site to load customers and contractors alike. Weather it be the bed of a pickup truck, a dump trailer, a dump truck, or a belly dump, we can load anything.
How can I get an estimate?
We price our services in accordance with the standards of our industry, ensuring no client is left feeling surprised by the final invoice. We perform some jobs for a lump sum, while we charge by the cubic yard for others.
Before offering an estimate for our services, we ask our clients to provide us with as much information as possible about the nature of the project.
Where does the imported material go?
Pelino Inc. is happy to offer the option of taking in unwanted material. When excess material is brought in from a job site, it gets recycled and repurposed.
Concrete and asphalt that gets brough into our pit gets run through the crusher and remade into sellable recycled concrete and recycled asphalt that is perfect for numerous projects. Spoils, such as rocks and dirt, get screened in our plant and then crushed and mixed into road base. Slash from trees, bushes, and other landscape projects can be mulched down and reused.
How do you know how to avoid utilities underground?
We do thorough research prior to excavating near utilities such as wiring and pipes. In most cases, the underground utilities are the responsibility of the utility companies themselves. We will contact the companies so they can mark the location of the lines for ourselves and the property owner.
Will there be any damage to my property?
We take precautions to ensure that we only break the ground we intend to break. Our years of experience minimizes liabilities and gives clients peace of mind.
Are you licensed and insured for this work?
Our crew members are licensed, bonded, and insured. Aside from extensive on-the-job experience, our excavator operators also have undergone extensive general heavy equipment training.
Is my project too small for you?
We like to tell our clients that no job is too big or too small for our excavation company. We will inform you of the services available to you during your no-obligation consultation.
Which communities do you serve?
We believe in going the distance for our clients. If your upcoming construction project falls in or around the Buena Vista, Salida, or Leadville communities, we invite you to contact us.
Should I inform my neighbors about upcoming excavation projects?
We advise our clients to notify their neighbors and discuss any individual or shared concerns.
What equipment does your company have?
One main piece of equipment is the excavator. Fitted with a long bucket arm designed to handle heavy loads, digging, and demolition, it is versatile and only ever operated by trained professionals.
Additionally we also have various sizes of loaders, skid steers, and mini excavators, and a blade to assist in flattening and preparing roads.
If a job site is in need of material, we also have numerous different sizes of trucks available to fulfil any needs.
